Delta is Testing Free Wi-Fi on Selected Flights

Delta recently announced plans to offer free Wi-Fi on all flights. But first, they will conduct tests on approximately 55 domestic flights per day. These tests will gather data about the demand and quality of service.

Currently, the majority of in-flight internet users are business travelers who need to stay connected while flying. Delta has to be sure that if Wi-Fi is free, the higher number of connected users will not impact the quality and speed of the connection.

Delta already offers free messaging on iMessage, Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp.
